Flu Fighting ImmuniTEA

Support your immune system naturally, with this Soothing, nourishing tea. Makes a delicious pre or post winter dinner drink too.

Use your fav spices

Ingredients: 

• 1 small knob of ginger, grated
• 1 red apple, grated
• ½ lemon, juiced
• 1 tsp raw Manuka honey (highest rating available)
• 1 pinch cinnamon

Optional Variations:

  • cardamom pods
  • coves
  • fennel seeds
  • 1 orange, juiced, added at the end

 

Method:

1. Place grated ginger and apple in a saucepan with 2 cups filtered water. Gently simmer (do not boil) for 5 minutes. Stir through remaining ingredients, strain and serve. You can water down to your preference if needed.

*** If you have a juicer you can juice all the ingredients rather than grating them to make a stronger tea. Gently warm this through with some extra filtered water and serve.

Serving Suggestion:

We have this throughout winter every year, flu or no flu. We like to serve ours in a teapot so that we can go back for several cups. I often serve it when friends are over for dinner through the winter months, before and after the meal. It is very warming and aids digestion, and we get many compliments for it.

Lemon is high in Vitamin C and is full of phytochemicals. These are plant constituents that help boost the immune system and much more. Ginger and honey are also well documented to help the immune system, and are like a Herbal Antibiotic.
